Anyway, what the Hell is there to want? I actually give them the benefit of the doubt in my book and give them LIMITED credit for 2 things.
*1- It’s a way to kill some new found hours that used to be spent scheming to get, use and vegetate with your drug of choice. OK, I can see doing that for a few weeks but then it’s time to start doing LIFE.
*2-It’s a place where other people get you, you receive support from people who have been there, blah, blah, blah. OK, it’s not good to isolate and most of us did a LOT of that when we were using. Again, it’s a place where you can go for a few weeks just to not be alone. As far as getting any kind of “group help” though, forget about it. Nobody talks about underlying issues; there are no discussions because “crosstalk” is forbidden. What kind of group therapy or support is there if no conversations can take place? That’s nucking futz!
The poison that you will receive the moment you walk in the doors is nowhere near worth that teensy little bit of relief. It’ll suck the life out of you before you blink.
