but I NEEDED to wish my soulmate a happy anniversary!
It was a year ago today that I met my fiance and the love of my life, Jill. I just have to
share why she is the most amazing person I have ever met. For one, she dedicated her
entire adult working life fighting for the lives and rights of our canine and feline friends.
She's saved 1000's of dogs from inhumane puppy mills and traveled the country
converting kill only shelters into one's where adoption has become the goal, and so much more.
On a personal level, Jill is a two time cancer survivor who suffers from the incredible
damage that was bestowed upon her a decade ago from over the top amounts of radiation
to save her life from Lymphoma. Her thyroid and pituitary glands were destroyed and
the result is that her body can't really regulate anything. Her blood pressure fluctuates from
heart attack/stroke highs to fainting and anemic lows. She has fallen down flights of stairs
from fainting spells which broke bones in her back and is in chronic pain as a result. Crushing
headaches are an almost daily occurance and a host of other health problems are her plight......
NOT a word of complaint. When I said to her the first time how unfair all of this was and
asked the rhetorical question of "Why you?" Her answer was simply, "Why not me? I can take it;
so better me than someone else.” Her gratitude for waking up each day is genuine and moving.
I could go on and on but will simply say that I am honored, humbled and thrilled that she has
chosen me to share in the spectacular love that she exudes in all that she is and does.
Happy Anniversary Jill-------I love you forever!!!!!
