A regular blog post will be forthcoming this evening or in the AM tomorrow.
I want to send out a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of you who check the site, the #'s keep growing and that is good news for the changing of consciousness that needs to take place to replace the old recovery paradigm of addiction recovery (stepism) to something (ANYTHING) different based on psychology, philosophy, science, common sense and/or logic.
PLEASE feel free to comment on any and all entries and just as importantly, feel free to contact the site for any subjects that you would like to see covered here! I would love to see some dialog in here. I don't claim to have all the answers...Hell, like Socrates once said; "I know that I don't really know anything!" But I do question both the questions and the answers. That's how we learn, grow and evolve.
One last request.....If you've read the book......Please, please post a review from wherever you got it! It makes a HUGE difference and will help get the word out that at the end of the day, we all have the power within us to effect change.
OK, here's the review....
"If you ever have had an intervention or have been coerced into treatment, one of the first things you will receive when you walk into many of the treatment centers is the "Big Book". This AA program is clearly
outdated and not for everyone. People need to know that there are other options out there.I am very happy that this book has been written, and I thank the author for all of the research and time put into this work.
If you find yourself at an AA meeting and feel something is a little uncomfortable or just "off" about it, please order and read this book. I do hope that no one would ever have to feel the pain of addiction or watch someone else go through it, if so, there are other options besides AA. Get a copy of The Freedom to Recover,
read it, you are not powerless to be sentenced to the "program" of the Big Book or the steps forever. Choose for yourself. Also, you may enjoy it, I did. Hope so. "
